Should you write articles yourself or should you pay an article ghostwriter to do it for you? It's a good question, and one that only you can answer because only you know if you are able to write your own articles. Here are some aspects of article writing that you should consider when making your decision. Whether you agree or not, each of these is important:

1. Spelling Errors

Can you write articles without spelling errors? That means more than simply using a spell checker, because your spell checker will only detect spelling errors, not improper use of words that sound the same, but have different meanings (homonyms). Examples of homonyms commonly used erroneously online: lose and loose, there and their, too and to plus many more.

Your spell checker will not detect incorrectly spelled words that are nevertheless valid words. Thus, if you write "should you writ your articles yourself," then most spell checkers will not detect the error because 'writ' is a valid word. It is spelled correctly.

2. Errors in Grammar

Many will tell you that errors in grammar are irrelevant, so long as the meaning is clear. This is nonsense, written by those that cannot write properly. No article ghostwriter would keep his or her clients were they to write with incorrect grammar, understood or not. If you want people to visit your website and perhaps purchase from you, the way to persuade them to do so is not to write in poor English. Sure, English might not be your native language, but you can use an article ghostwriter to write for you if you have difficulty doing so yourself.

Article directories, particularly Ezine Articles, are refusing articles that contain poor grammar and punctuation. They are now using more human reviewers than software, and many are finding poorly written article to be refused for publication.

3. Use of Keywords

Although keywords are by no means defunct, they do not have the influence on your Google listing that they once had. In fact, it is possible to be listed for a search term without you using that in your web page. That is due to Google's focus on semantic relevance: or the meaning of the vocabulary on your web page.

A keyword density of 0.5% - 0.8% is fine, and the old 3% - 5% would be looked upon as excessive, if not keyword spamming. I consider 1% an absolute maximum, because Google's indexing algorithm is programmed to recognize character strings that relate to the search term used buy the Google user searching for information.

If that person uses the words 'cat' in their search term, yes, the algorithm will recognize the same words in your content as being relevant, but it will also recognize the words 'feline, 'kitten' and 'tabby' as being related to the topic the user is looking for. This is perhaps not the best example, but you should get the drift. In fact, it is possible to get listed for 'cats' without ever using the word on the page!

4. Article Structure

A good article has a title that uses the keyword or a synonym right at the beginning of the title. In fact, in spite of what is stated above, if you have a target keyword then use it early in your title. Your article should then have an introductory paragraph, explaining what the article is about. Use your keyword no more than once within the first 100 characters of this paragraph.

Each succeeding paragraph should develop the introduction, and the final paragraph, which should also contain your keyword in the final 100 characters, should sum up what has been previously discussed. If the article is for submission, it should also have a text and HTML resource that offers a link to your web page: use two links if you can to make best use of the resource.

If you feel that you can do all this competently, then write articles yourself, and if not then employ an article ghostwriter. Since the Google Panda/Farmer algorithm update, it has been more difficult to get articles published in most article directories. They have become stricter on grammar and punctuation, and even a comma in the wrong place can have your article refused by Ezine Articles.

It is now more important than ever before that your articles are written with perfect spelling and punctuation, and that your grammar conforms to what is expected by the directory reviewers. You can read 'Google algorithms' for 'directory reviewers' if your article writing is for your own website. An increasing number of web pages are being manually checked since the algorithm update.

Don't fear it, because if you write articles well you will be rewarded, but if you find it difficult then perhaps an article ghostwriter is your answer.
